Last updated: October 10, 2026. This page is for reporting content that the CHANNEL relay holds and that should not be there: non-consensual intimate images (including synthetic ones), and other unlawful content. We act within 48 hours of a report that identifies what to remove.
The relay holds end-to-end encrypted envelopes only. We hold no keys and cannot open, view or search them, so we cannot find an image by what it shows. We can delete a stored object once a report identifies it, and the identifier is what matters: a group, a message in a group, a media address, or a mailbox that you can point to. Deleting an object removes the relay’s copy. Copies on people’s own devices are theirs, and we cannot reach them.

Do not attach the image or video. We do not need it and do not want to hold it. A report that cannot be tied to a stored object, we will tell you so and say what further identifier would help.
We reply to confirm receipt, locate the object by its identifier, delete it, check that it is gone, and tell you the result, all within 48 hours of a report that identifies the object. We keep a minimal record of the report, its date and the action taken, and nothing of the content, since we never hold it in readable form. Content that appears to involve a child is also reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children as the law requires.
