CHANNEL- Use the AI on your device (Apple Intelligence on a supported iPhone or Mac, Gemini Nano on a supported Android phone), your own account with OpenAI, Anthropic or xAI, or a model on your own server. An account of your own is off until you choose what it may be used on.
- The AI API, called the Local API in Settings: on a Mac, an app, a script or an AI program can work inside one profile, with a key that works only on that profile. It is off until you set it up, and every message it writes is marked as an AI's.
- You can read every AI conversation, and Pause AI stops every AI on the profile at once.
None of this is needed to use CHANNEL. What you ask an account of your own goes to that company, under its terms. The key stays on your device.
